About Us

Sarah Denny is a 3rd Generation Registered Optometrist. After working with her father who has an inspiring interest in helping children with learning problems, Sarah has also taken on this passion and hopes to help as many children as possible. Sarah is also qualified to prescribe appropriate medication if needed.

How we help children

Vision problems can have significant effects on a child’s ability to learn and succeed at school, which in turn can have lifelong effects if not detected early.

Therefore, every eye exam is tailored to fit the child. This may involve having more than one appointment so as to not overwhelm the child and to allow us to get the best outcome. Using age appropriate charts, we are able to test most age groups. Testing is kept pressure free and most importantly, fun. Most parents cannot believe how easy the eye exam is and are happy and surprised when their child wants to come back!

Physical environment

We have a modern, bright and child friendly practice, with plenty of parking. Mahurangi Vision Centre is situated not far from the beautiful park in the centre of Warkworth.

Atmosphere

We are a professional and friendly practice who understand how stressful it can be when it comes to vision problems. Your experience will be as smooth as possible from the moment you walk in.

With a wide variety of frames, lenses and contact lens options, we always aim to be able to work within all budgets.

Subsidy

Children with their own or under their parent’s community services card are entitled to an ENABLE subsidy to help towards the cost of glasses, until their 16th birthday.
