My Experience

Frances is a highly experienced and qualified facilitator and teacher. Frances has travelled nationally and globally presenting and learning about education. Having been a reading recovery teacher for many years, she is committed to sharing her knowledge of how movement and active play builds the foundations for development in the body and the brain. Her career is defined by her motto ‘working with human potential’. She loves to find the joy in learning and teaching, and encourages adults to include fun in their work.

I talk about

  • The learning link between the body and the brain, understanding why kids need to move and why it’s more important than ever today.
  • Evolution of Movement – the individual journey for children towards independent movement
  • The Kinetic Scale: a visual map of the active learning needs such as balance, coordination, and control
  • Unpack behaviours that often frustrate teachers and give simple, easy to implement practical suggestions that will ease your frustration and help children overcome these behavioural barriers.

My key messages

  • Smart Steps activities that will keep children moving, growing, and learning
  • Language development, movement, and readiness for formal learning
  • Teaching tips to advance and automate children’s foundational physical capabilities while providing incremental challenge
  • Strategies for developing children’s pre-academic skill suites.
