Who do these resources help?

Maths Resources

Our maths resources have been inspired by teachers who have had many years experience in the classroom and tutoring maths as a business.

These maths activities address children being able to practise verbalising their thinking about numbers.

Our maths resources help those children who are needing a boost in maths and with being so tactile help those children visualise and learn by doing.

These maths resources are excellent for one on one teaching or small groups of children with a teacher aide, transition to school programmes and with a parent in the home.

Language Resources

As classroom teacher, we have all experienced times when it has been hard to motivate young children to write.

Our Language resources have been designed to motivate children’s interests.

These resources allow and help teachers and teacher aides to inspire children to talk and write about a range of topics.

Our Language resources are great for the reluctant writer, pre-schools and for ESOL classes.

How do they help?

Maths Resources

Our hands-on Maths games allow children to practise their basic facts and essential number knowledge in a fun way. They are designed to build solid foundations in children’s number knowledge and develop the language of Maths.

Our resources are effective teaching tools for success in Numeracy. They will help children develop the ability to count, sequence numbers and recognise numbers to 10 and beyond.

Specifically designed for one-on-one or small teaching groups, these resource packs come with a full set of instructions for each activity and prompts to use with the children that are the same prompts that are being used in the classroom.

Specific learning goals:

  • recognise numerals and their order/sequence to 10
  • recognise numerals to 20 and their sequence/order to start thinking in sets
  • recognise dice patterns
  • recognise and reinforce patterns to 5 and then 10
  • learn basic facts “with 5”
  • learn “5 and…” patterns
  • learn simple addition and subtraction facts to 10

Positive experiences and scaffolded learning in school pre-school or in the home environment are important in order to build confident learners as children move towards or through school.

These packs are available for individual purchase of parents or teacher aides, and bulk purchase for early childhood education and entrant classrooms.

Language Resources

We have created these pictures for the teacher to model from, to share expectations, to share a specific learning goal and for the child to gain confidence and make writing fun.

They have a positive impact on a child’s learning as they capture the child’s imagination and help them become descriptive and fluent writers.

These big pictures cater to all learning styles and all children experience success and a feeling of pride.

About Us

Thinking Caps for Kids started out of a need for children to receive extra support with their Maths learning. Since then we have developed Maths and Literacy resources to support children’s learning from 4-8 years of age & ESOL

Julie and Michele are passionate about making learning fun and giving children the tools they need to become confident learners.

We can come out to see you to show you how to use these resources effectively.
