About Us

Bays Youth was established in 2008 and has grown from one youth worker into a team of full time and part time workers.

Comprising mainly of multi-disciplinary professionals, including counsellors, social workers and tutors, our agency is unique in its ability to provide flexible, individually tailored, wrap-around interventions that support young people throughout their period of need.

In order to keep up-to date with youth practice and better equip ourselves to work with youth, our team regularly attends professional development workshops.

Alternative education, counselling & mentoring

We have available trained social workers, social work students, teachers, counsellors and tutors within our team; all with different backgrounds and experience.

Our team of qualified, experienced counsellors provides an effective service where young people can find healing, restoration and strength and where they can be resourced for personal growth.

Clients are treated respectfully and with sensitivity to their cultural values, religious beliefs, gender issues and disabilities, in a confidential setting.

NEET – Navigating Education, Employment or Training

This is a government-funded service for 16 or 17 year olds. Our team of youth coaches can provide support and assistance to help young people achieve their goals and get where they want to be.

Location

Bays Youth is a friendly and fun environment behind Windsor Park Baptist Church, with fields behind our three rooms. Our work can also be carried out in schools or the community as we like to meet clients where they prefer, to aid in connection and comfort.

We are an energetic group of professionals committed to helping your young person to help themselves. We pride ourselves on being welcoming and friendly to all who come to our office!

“The best thing about being apart of my school programme with Bays Youth is being able to walk out with a smile on my face and feel good about myself”
Student participant in a group run in intermediate schools

“She is confident in her beliefs and defends herself. She has improved relationships with others. She really enjoyed the programme and was keen to go each week”
Teachers feedback regarding school programme run by Bays Youth

“Before I came to Bays Youth I was struggling with anxiety and was not wanting to try new things or get involved with other people, i had trouble trusting people and this resulted in me struggling to build and maintain friendships. Since then I have now been involved with a mix of in school and out of school mentoring and have gone through counselling. Since I have been involved with Bays I have developed lots of new social skills to help me to have better friendships and I am now more confident in trying new things and have been more involved in a range of different activities”
Client

“I have seen the evidence for the efficacy of the work they are doing not only in reduced referrals to our service but also in the reduction in recidivism for the youth who attend their programme”
