How you help children

Initially children go through an assessment process at Kids OT. There is a broad range of standardised and play based assessment tools available.  Once problem areas are established, then agreed goals of intervention are formulated. There is a variety of options for intervention including individualised weekly therapeutic sessions (usually 45mins long) to target the child’s specific need.

Kids OT is well resourced with activities which are motivational, fun and designed promote success which increases self-confidence.  Children can also be seen at school for individual sessions.

Sessions are run by a qualified experienced Occupational Therapist.

Kids OT can liaise with health and education professionals as required and produce professional Occupational Therapy reports.

Physical environment

The premises are in a residential area close to Fraser Cove Tauranga where we have a warm spacious well-resourced therapy room. Off street parking is available. Please park in the driveway and walk down around the back of the house to the Kids OT Centre.

The centre is close to walking tracks, Yatton Park and great shopping areas within a few minutes’ drive, in all directions.

Atmosphere

The room has air conditioning but is also open to the outside and is sunny and north facing. Parents are welcome to stay or leave when their child is settled. It is a purposefully uncluttered calm environment which brightens with the activities presented during the session.
