About Us

Sherry Costa founded Ultimate Transformations based on her passion for working with children and experience as a school teacher and a parent of two children with learning difficulties. She was keen to understand how learning difficulties are identified and how children can be taught to learn. Her passion led to further study in Specific Learning Difficulties (SLD), Child Developmental Psychopathology, Applied Behaviour Analysis, Psychological Testing and Neuro Linguistic Programing.

She is constantly updating her knowledge of what neuroscience reveals about how the brain learns. She and her team work collaboratively to provide the best intervention for the child and appropriate support for parents and teachers.

A different approach

Sherry and her team strongly believe that students with learning difficulties benefit tremendously from early recognition, targeted intervention and individualised support that acknowledges and meets their specific needs. It is important to have a holistic approach to intervention and children learn best when their emotions are settled, and they are in a happy and confident state.

Children need to have self-confidence and belief in their ability to learn. That is why our coaching is deeper in scope than tutoring. We not only teach subject matter like reading, writing or math, but we also specialize in teaching students HOW to learn and think. We identify the child’s strengths and weaknesses. With this information, we develop a holistic intervention that teaches the child strategies to get past their difficulties. Our goal is to help the children learn to help themselves. The success belongs to the student; the coach is there to assist, teach techniques, and guide them to academic competence.

Use of specifically designed interventions comprise of a combination of tried and tested programmes that best suit individual students and address specific weaknesses. Our remedial coaches are qualified and experienced in executing designed interventions for specific learning difficulties.

Physical environment

Our remedial coaching staff are available Monday to Friday during school terms. We conduct one on one and group remedial coaching session at our office. It is a spacious room conducive to learning. It has some street parking. Children and parents love it.

Atmosphere

At Ultimate Transformations the lines of communication are always open for parents and teachers. We pride ourselves on having a warm welcoming atmosphere.

Our attendance at IEP meetings can be arranged. When needed we refer our clients to our specialist consultants.
